Now in our 5th year, the HR in Hospitality Salary & Benefits Survey provides members and participants with detailed statistical data across a wide range of positions, from line employees to senior executives. The survey delivers current pay ranges across the industry by position, drawn from a broad cross-section of businesses within our sector, with the aim of documenting evolving trends in Hospitality remuneration packages each year.
Over 90 companies participated in our 2025 survey, covering approximately 45,000 employees, 600 HR professionals and 528 sites across the UK.

As part of our survey we collect detailed salary data by position covering over a range of positions from senior executives to Line employees. Each position is broken down into various pay elements to detail, Basic Pay, Service Charge/Tronc and Bonus payments. The total package figure is also provided for you for comparison. There is also a tab for you to paste your own data back into the results for easy comparison.
We use percentiles to provide the most reliable bandings for comparison, reporting on the 25th, 50th, 75th and upper 90th percentiles.
With the unprecedented rises in the National Living Wage the past couple of years, the ongoing cost of living crisis and the Government's change to employers national insurance rates and thresholds; we anticipate the 2025 survey to provide and interesting analysis of the impact of these recent legislation changes.
In addition to annual salaries we also provide comparative hourly rates. These have either been provided directly by respondents or calculated by using the contracted hours provided. The total hourly pay data does not include any bonus payments that have been reported.

In addition to remuneration we also gather information on Benefits to help you compare your business offering against the market, Business Data and Key HR Metrics such as Turnover and Retention rates.
We also ask participants to provide their thoughts on a number of key HR areas and people challenges facing the industry. All Data is compiled into a detailed 60 Page report which is provided to all participants in addition to our Salary survey.
The comprehensive report provides comparative data tables broken into percentiles for all primary benefits including Annual leave, Company sick pay, Pension contributions and Private Medical. Each section provides data for Line employees, Supervisory, Manager and Director levels across each sub sector.
Data is also collected on a range of other common benefits within the sector, respondents also report on company discounts such as employees rates, complimentary night stays and F&B discounts.
Respondents to the survey are also asked to provide data on a number of Key HR metrics, including Turnover & Retention, HR to employee ratio, employee headcount’s. In our 2025 we will be asking respondents to provide statistical information on HR systems, diversity and learning and development.
Data is also collected on a range of other common benefits within the sector, respondents also report on company discounts such as employees rates, complimentary night stays and F&B discounts.
In 2024 we collected data on new areas including flexible, hybrid and remote working policies which continue to remain a key benefit among corporate office and administration roles across the sector.
The final part of our survey invites respondents to share there thoughts on 3 key HR questions impacting the industry. In 2024 respondents shared their thoughts on the impact The Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2024 would have on their business; The impact they thought A.I. would have on the HR function over the next few years; and Inflation and the new immigration rules which came into effect in April 2024.
